It’s hit or miss – I used the “delicate” cleaner to clean costume jewelry, a lot of which had semi precious stones. The good news is none of the jewelry was damaged by the solution. The bad news is some pieces were still not clean. I guess that’s the risk you take with a delicate cleaner; maybe it’s too delicate. I gave it 4 stars because even though it’s not perfect it did clean some and didn’t cause any damage.

Amazing results – My graduation ring is almost 19 years old and didn’t fit me since 2004. I recently lost weight and found it while cleaning up. It was dirty and old looking. I tried this product that was very simple to use and less than couple minutes it’s shiny and new.

Pleasantly surprised – Ok I’m pleasantly surprised by the results after ONE 10 second dip. I’m now sad that it appears I’ve gotten rid of some of my jewelry that I thought was too far gone from saving after years of trying other methods of cleaning the tarnish off. Some pieces still look a bit tarnished after a second dip, but still MUCH improved from before dipping. There is an odd smell– from the chemical reaction during cleaning? I’d say this is worth a shot of you have jewelry that’s been sitting for years not worn and tarnished.

Great product! – The drip tray is really nice and small brush is great for the small nooks in jewelry. The only issue I have is I nearly lost an earring to dropping tray in too quick and there’s no easy way to grab it if it drops under the tray.

Works great if you follow the instructions – I’m writing this review to help others get the tarnish off of heavily tarnished items. I had an eagle charm that was beautiful but stopped wearing it because I rotate my jewelry and I didn’t keep it in a safe place. I tried another very popular solution, but it still didn’t clean the charm to my satisfaction. I even used a toothbrush with the old solution but it still wasn’t clean enough. I then used a jeweler’s cloth to help to no avail. I had used this product before, but the solution leaked a lot because I didn’t close it all of the way so I trashed it. I decided to give this one a try again, and it worked! A rinse with soap and water got rid of the smell. I wear gloves when cleaning my jewelry because the oils on your fingers could cause your piece to tarnish first. This solution will cause slight chemical burns, so I wear gloves for that reason. When you clean silver, the solution strips away a minute amount of silver so keep your silver pieces in a small bag to keep from air getting to it and causing it to tarnish again. Polishing silver can wear away a layer of silver, so using the instructions saying to use it UP TO 10 swishes to remove the tarnish is a must and I check the piece after three dunks, then another three to see if it worked. Use it too much, and it will ruin your jewelry. I found that my jewelry, even with the rinse, comes out a bit dull, but I use the buffing side of a jewelers cloth to not only shine the piece but to put a protective coating to keep it from tarnishing so quickly. You can use jewelry polish if you so desire.
