The weight of the lid and the length of the ribbon together ensures that it will literally fall on top of your hand, painfully, within seconds of getting the lid up. The only way to access your jewelry is to either always hold it open with one hand or tilt the box backwards by placing something under it to push up the front. Of course this causes the whole box to sometimes tip backwards and send your jewelry flying. I don’t know whether to send it back and try again so I have decided to cultivate a sense of humor about it for now. I don’t know if my box is defective or they’re all like this so just be aware.
